Emily Stowe Bsc (Hons) MCSP

Registered Member of the Health Professions Council

Emily trained as a physiotherapist at the university of Hertfordshire and graduated with a first class honours degree in June 2007. Having spent time at Stortford Grange both as a patient and a work experience student, she returned to work with us soon after graduating.

Since then Emily has continued to develop her professional practice by attending a number of nationally recognised courses. She is qualified to administer acupuncture, having completed the course which entitles her to be a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Since then, Emily has developed a special interest in acupuncture and uses it extensively through her practice when appropriate. She has attended further courses to develop her knowledge in this area, most recently with Lynn Pearce.

Emily has completed a post graduate diploma from the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine and plans to continue her studying with a Masters Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire.

Emily is also an Affiliated member of PhysioFirst, which represents the Independent Practitioner at local and national level, and within the professional body, the chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Emily has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of peripheral injuries, particularly the lower limb and works closely with our podiatrist George Florence in the treatment of these patients.

Emily also spends one day a week working with a specialist neurophysiotherapist treating patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. Patients include those with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Stroke and are usually treated in their own homes. The knowledge gained from working with these patients is also useful in treating those with more common musculoskeletal conditions.
