We have changed from a
COST PER SESSION RATE
to an all inclusive
COST PER CONDITION RATE
We are also offering a full money back guarantee if the agreed goals are not achieved.
This applies to patients who have not had a surgical procedure that needs a Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Programme as the ability to gain a full recovery depends as much on the surgery as the physiotherapy treatments and programme. In other words, if the surgery fails, then that is down to the surgeon and not the physiotherapy input.

We have been listening to our patients about the different ways they would prefer to be charged for the treatment they receive here at Stortford Grange.
We had an overwhelming response to fees being charged based on a firm price for the whole treatment being agreed in advance.
UNDER THE NEW SCHEME:
For those patients who may prefer the more usual fee structure of charging by the
session, we have re-
As with the 3 Plans, the assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan is offered at no charge.
Fees will only be incurred when treatment has been agreed and started.
Payment will be required at each treatment session.
PLAN A £270
It is anticipated that this Plan will be for those patients who have a condition that will respond quickly and easily to treatment whilst including the all important aspect of education and advice as to how to avoid, or manage the condition in the future.
PLAN B £360
It is anticipated that this Plan will be for patients who have a more complex problem, or multiple diagnoses.
Where a condition has been causing problems for some time, then other areas of the body may be affected and require all of the elements to be dealt with to achieve a successful outcome.
PLAN C £540 +
Price to be agreed
This Plan is for those patients who require a much longer term of treatment and rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery or who have a chronic pain condition.
Orthopaedic rehabilitation programmes following fractures, knee or hip replacement surgery, for example, need more Physiotherapy and patient time and effort. Surgery of any kind is a traumatic experience, let alone any injury that lead to surgery in the first place.
For this reason the fees will be calculated on the estimated Physiotherapy requirements. The usual approach is for more intensive sessions, close together to start the programme, followed an increasing time between sessions as the patient is able to take more responsibility for their recovery.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Previously, patients were charged a fee for each Physiotherapy session that they received. This is the usual way of charging by virtually all health care providers in any field. We believe we are the first provider of Physiotherapy Services to offer this style of payment plan in the UK.
It is also common for patients to be charged for their sessions by the hour and this was one area that we have always felt was inappropriate. The time taken per session should be decided by the needs of the patient and the clinical decision of the staff.
WHY CHANGE?
We looked at our outcome measures and the clinical results that we were able to achieve and decided that we should be offering our services on a completely different basis.
So we decided that by offering our patients a fixed, all inclusive fee, then they know from the outset exactly what is involved both financially and clinically.
Our aim is to identify what is wrong; decide on a treatment plan, which is then agreed with the patient, and offer the most cost effective of one of the 3 Plans.
Once agreed, these Plans are inclusive with no hidden extra costs. The important point to remember is that Plans A and C are not limited by the number of sessions. Plan B is the only Plan limited by treatment numbers.
HEALTH INSURANCE etc
Currently, Stortford Grange only has a direct settlement arrangement
with Bupa and AXAPPP. Patients with cover from these companies will continue to be
charged as before, until April 2010.
For all other Insurance Providers, the patients will be required to pay for their treatment as before and then claim the money back. We will provide them with a report that includes the dates of the treatments and the total cost.
Where other intermediaries are involved eg Solicitors or Insurance companies following
RTCs etc, then we will be happy to discuss alternative payment and invoicing arrangements.
WE OFFER TWO PAYMENT OPTIONS:
NB Full settlement of any outstanding amount will be expected on discharge.
