Our treatment cubicles are separated by tulip wood and oak veneer partitions with curtains across the front for privacy.
It was decided from the outset that to have completely soundproofed treatment areas was a potential hazzard for both physiotherapist and patient. If the patient was in distress for any reason, then they may not be heard. Intercoms etc may be in the wrong place in the room for the patient to call for help.
There are often times when we like to leave patients alone in a cubicle during certain treatments, such as Interferential Therapy, because we want them to be able to relax and even go to sleep.
This is common when treating patients with extremely painful conditions. We even use Relaxation and Stress Management CD’s, and now the new Freedom from Pain CD is proving to be of great value for patients with back pain.
TREATMENTS
We have a variety of treatments in our “toolbox” and the selection of the particular technique depends on:
A. The condition.
B. The technique that you, the patient, are happy with.
C. The latest evidence based techniques that we have available.
What this means to you the patient is that after we have taken you through the full examination and arrived at a diagnosis, then we will discuss the treatment options with you to decide which technique is the most appropriate.
We understand that not everyone likes the idea of spinal manipulation or acupuncture, so we have an array of different approaches to achieve the same result, albeit a more lengthy treatment.
