THE STORTFORD GRANGE MODEL IS A RADICAL DEPARTURE FROM THE USUAL PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICE DELIVERY IN THE INDEPENDENT SECTOR.
The conventional approach is where patients will book appointments with a specific physiotherapy practitioner. If that physiotherapist does not have the particular skill set required to successfully treat the condition, then the patient will go elsewhere.
It is no longer possible for every physiotherapist to be skilled in all the specialities anymore than a GP is expected to know everything about diseases and the effects of every drug on the market.
At Stortford Grange we have been building a team of physiotherapists who have a range of specialities. This means that our patients may see one or all of our physiotherapy team depending on the needs of their particular condition. When booking an appointment at Stortford Grange, our patients are assigned to the Physiotherapy Team and not to a specific practitioner.
Over the last 3 years, our junior physiotherapists have been rapidly developing their skills by attending a range of post graduate courses.
Every month we run in service training where all the clinical staff come together and spend time reviewing the latest research and sharing our knowledge and expertise.
It is an essential philosophy of Stortford Grange that we do not charge by time. Our patients are paying for the combined skills and knowledge of the whole team. Some patients only require a short period of time whereas others need a more in depth session to achieve the agreed goals and recovery.
THE STORTFORD GRANGE MODEL
If we didn’t have the expertise in house we would have to refer to another practice.
Our intention is to provide all the expertise under one roof -
As a patient, you may see 2 or 3 members of our team -
Wendy Emberson, as Senior Consultant Physiotherapist, Practice Principal and Director of Stortford Grange Ltd, has the overall responsibility for the provision of services and is the Managing Practitioner for all patients attending for physiotherapy.
We believe that the STORTFORD GRANGE MODEL allows us to provide the best possible service for our patients. It is an important feature in developing this Model that our patients should feel free to offer their perspective if there are any elements that they feel could be improved upon.
The old adage of “If you have a complaint, then tell us -
